Since bottom competitor Norrby won at home against Öster earlier in the day, points were required for Östersund when visiting Utsikten.
Had the result 3–2 stood, the equals would have been ready for relegation.
But in the 90th minute of the match, the visitors received a corner which reached Mansour Sinyan who volleyed in - his first goal in the ÖFK shirt.
And now hope is alive to the highest degree.
Because on Saturday, Östersund will host Norrby in the last round of the super league.
However, they have to do without match hero Sinyan as he drew a yellow card in connection with the goal celebration.
