The system remains, but the formation changes.

It is not a surprise that Eintracht is showing a different face again.

The wide range of national and international tasks means that Oliver Glasner is also counting on the breadth of his squad for the next top game.

"The defense will be changed," said the Frankfurt Eintracht coach when he gave information about his team and the opponent the day before the neighborhood duel against Borussia Dortmund.

As on Wednesday in the premier class against Olympique Marseille, when Eintracht kept all options open with a strong performance and the deserved 2-1 win, to reach the first dream goal of the round of 16 on their own, this Saturday (6.30 p.m. in the FAZ live ticker for the Bundesliga and on Sky) the floodlights shine brightly in the sold-out arena.

Glasner misses a win against BVB

Harmony in the spotlight.

She is responsible for the fact that she is there – thanks to good performance.

Of course, Glasner also wants to win against BVB, who are fifth in the table.

It would be the first time ever.

“I've been in Germany for four years now.

But I've never won against Dortmund.” It's time for that to change.

Eintracht is in great shape and has been rushing from victory to victory for weeks.

At the end of an exciting week that started with the strong away win in Mönchengladbach's Borussia Park, now the game against BVB.

Against the club where Mario Götze grew up and became German champion twice.

Götze will be in the Frankfurt starting XI against the old comrades.

Just like in all the previous point game tests of this Bundesliga season.

Glasner made no secret of this on Friday, nor of the fact that the recently suspended Tuta is part of the first team.

Captain Sebastian Rode, who came on as a late substitute in the 2-1 win against Marseille, will also be there against his former club.

Together with Djibril Sow, who has been playing splendidly for months, Rode is supposed to help narrow the circles of the fast Dortmund top players as an interceptor.

Glasner thinks highly of Götze.

When asked about his creative mind, however, the Austrian football coach held back verbally.

He described the 30-year-old on Friday as a "liaison player on offense".

But so is Daichi Kamada.

“Mario can't carry our offense alone, and he doesn't have to.

But of course Mario is an important pillar.”

The one who can make the difference

Götze is the man who can make the difference.

The one who, with his fine antennae, sees spaces that remain hidden to others.

A space interpreter, on whose skills Eintracht also builds against BVB.

"Dortmund has really got going lately," said Glasner about the development that the Westphalians had made under fellow coach Edin Terzić.

“They have not conceded a goal three times recently.

We have to be careful even when we have the ball," warned the Eintracht coach.

"They have a lot of speed and quality in their ranks."

In order to annoy the long-term rival of FC Bayern, who last won the championship ten years ago, "we need the whole repertoire again".

In concrete terms, this means that if Eintracht trumps like they did in Mönchengladbach and against Marseille and manages to make up for lost personnel through collective effort and team spirit, Glasner sees a good chance that his team will still be ahead of Borussia Dortmund in the table after the twelfth matchday.

Well-functioning offensive

In preparation for the duel with BVB, Eintracht worked on the back burner.

The commitments in the Champions League mean that a regulated practice routine is hardly to be thought of.

For example, Götze, who, according to his trainer, complained of "slight back pain", recently only worked individually and regeneratively.

The total of 30 minutes of training work in the arena, which the majority of the team faced, was "crunchy" in Glasner's assessment.

Mario Götze in top form, Jesper Lindström in top form, Daichi Kamada in top form - and right at the front Randal Kolo Muani, who finally scored his first goal in the Champions League against Olympique: At Eintracht, things are going well offensively at the moment.

Players like Lindstrom attract the interest of other clubs through good performances.

Glasner finds this good, even very good.

"It is our great wish that our players be on the list of the big clubs." On Glasner's very personal note it also says that his first win against BVB will finally be something.
