For the third year in a row, the Swedish biathlon season begins with competitions in Idre.

This year with a short distance on Saturday 12 November and a sprint on Sunday 13 November.

Eight Swedish national team ladies (Hanna and Elvira Öberg, Linn Persson, Stina Nilsson, Mona Brorsson, Anna Magnusson, Johanna Skottheim and Tilda Johansson) will settle for six places at the world cup premiere in Kontiolahti at the end of November.

And they will face strong opposition.

For example, the French A team has a two-week camp in Idre before the competition weekend with Anais Chevalier Bouchet and Julia Simon at the helm.

On the men's side, there are also Quentin Fillon Maillet and Emilien Jacquelin among others.

On the start list, for example, there are also the Slovak sisters Paulina and Ivona Fialkova together with skaters from Ukraine and Latvia.

SVT Sport broadcasts from all over Sweden the premiere starting at 9:30 both Saturday and Sunday.

The competition weekend also marks the start of the Winter Studio.
