Last year, Matilda Huss struck with victory in GGN in her debut.

Now a year later, she is back on the island and aiming to defend her title, but the preparations have not been optimal.

- It feels great to be back, it really evokes emotions.

But I broke my collarbone about eight weeks ago and had surgery four weeks ago, so it's probably a bit of mixed feelings, that it's not one hundred percent but it should probably work anyway, says Huss to SVT Sport.

And continues.

- I'll do my best and we'll see how far it goes, but it's clear I'm going here to win.

"I want revenge"

Hanna Berzelius has won the GGN twice in 2018 and 2019. Last year she crashed and ran off a foot peg, devastating the race for victory and a final fourth place.

After a strong season in which she won SM gold for the eighth year in a row, the goal is crystal clear before Saturday's competition.

- I'm super excited, I want revenge from last year.

I knocked off the footpeg and had to drive a whole lap without it, and it's really hard.

I lost a lot of time and only finished fourth.

So I'm hell bent on getting revenge, says Hanna Berzelius.

Both Berzelius and Huss are betting on an even and fast race with several razor-sharp competitors who want to get involved in the fight for victory.

- This will probably be one of the toughest years ever.

There are very fast girls there, several new riders who are fast for the first time, several with whom I fight at SM.

There are motocross drivers, including Larisssa Papenmeier from Germany, who is "super duper" fast.

- It's going to be really tough, but that's also what's fun that more and more girls are coming and getting higher class at it, says Berzelius.
