Grönborg came to Zurich ahead of the 19/20 season after three seasons as head coach for Tre Kronor, with two World Cup golds as highlights.

In Zürich, the success continued with a regular season victory immediately before the corona pandemic put an end to the first season.

Last year Grönborg took their Zurich to the final.

But the current season will be Rikard Grönborg's last at the club, Zürich announced on its website on Thursday.

They write, among other things, that Grönborg's contract expires after the season and that they wanted to negotiate a new contract a little later.

But before it could start, Grönborg received an offer from another club and chose to accept it instead.

The Finnish newspaper Iltalehti already reported on Wednesday that Rikard Grönborg was ready as the new coach in Tappara.

Tappara are reigning Finnish champions, but already in September the current coach Jussi Tapola announced that he is stepping down from his post.
