The SVT expert on this year's GGN:

Who will win the elite class, women - and men?

- I have Matilda Huss as my favorite in the women's class.

She is mainly challenged by Larissa Papenmeier, who will be extremely dangerous.

It will be an exciting duel.

Among the men, Micke Persson and Albin Elowson are favourites, with Anton Gole as an outsider.

But even heavy names like Kenneth Gundersen and Eero Remes will challenge.

Who has the biggest advantage on GGN, cross or enduro riders?

- Both have their advantages.

I would say that the cross racers have the advantage of being skilled in their overtaking, and used to dueling.

Enduro riders have their strength in endurance.

Anyone can do two hours of driving, but that hour between two and three is all about how prepared you are.

Enduro riders often have an advantage there.

Which part of the track will be the most decisive in this year's competition?

- The most difficult thing, I would still say, is how to handle driving on the white and slippery limestone that is everywhere on the course.

There, many people can fall over and lose time.

The biggest stars in this year's GGN:

- Matilda Huss.

Competes for Göta MS in Enköping.

Reigning champion in the women's class.

Only 19 years old, but already the best in Sweden in motocross.

A bright future is predicted.

- Larissa Papenmeier.

Seasoned German star in the women's class.

Won ten World Championship sub-competitions in enduro and was top three in the World Championship five times.

Will challenge Huss.

- Mike Persson.

Drives for Karlskoga and has two straight victories in GGN.

Is a recent silver medalist in the WC and may be considered Sweden's best internationally.

- Eero Remes.

37-year-old Finn and three-time enduro world champion.

Has been aiming for Gotland for a long time and warmed up with a victory in the Ränneslättsloppet in Eksjö in September.

GGN's record listing and women's venture:

This year's GGN breaks records.

At the start of the week, 3,289 drivers were registered for this year's event, beating the previous record from 2018 of 3,117 drivers by a wide margin.

GGN is also investing heavily in the women's class and has a partial goal of 300 women driving GGN in 2023. In this year's competition, 207 women have registered so far.
