Gothenburg, AIK and SDE are certainly lower in the audience league, but among the clubs with SHL teams, Linköping is the worst on the audience front with an average of 87 spectators for the first six home games.

- We market the matches in the SHL and SDHL in the same way and we try to find things that will attract audiences here.

But it's also a bit difficult to flirt with.

We are scratching our heads a little how to take the next step, says club director Niclas Björkman to SVT Sport.

Linköping has won two SM golds and been in the final three more times in the last nine years in the SDHL.

But it has had no effect on the stands.

- We are self-critical, definitely.

There are many companies that demand that we have women's hockey and that we put a lot of effort and energy into girls' and women's hockey, and we have done that for many years.

But unfortunately we don't really get those who make the demands to go to the matches either.

It's probably a failure on our part.

The women's team plays in the same arena as the men, and with a crowd capacity of over 8,000, a surprising number of seats are empty.

But moving the matches from there has not been an option, as the club sees advantages with the restaurant and framing on the ice.

- We would like to play in Saab arena because the girls have the same intro and the same thing around the jumbotron with replays and such, to really increase the value and experience for those who are there.

Then it's really sad that it's very empty, but the alternative is to play in our other arena, Stångebro Ice Hall, which is a bit outdated and seats 4,000 people.

It would be quite empty there too with 123 people which we had the most this year.

Niclas Björkman believes that the club works with several activities to find new target groups, but that they are groping a little in the dark.

He sees the fact that SDHL is now taking action on the issue through a new audience strategy and inviting all clubs to a workshop in a couple of weeks as very welcome.

- We are not satisfied with the situation we have.

We need new thoughts and ideas so it comes very well in time for us.

Then we can work with each other and see what has been done in the different clubs.

I'm really looking forward to it.
