The last time Gothenburg HC played a match at home in Angered Arena was on October 2, when the visitors beat Linköping 5-0.

Since then, the West Coast team has been out on a four-match away tour.

The result: Three losses and one win, the team's first win this season.

Once back on home ice tonight, Gothenburg wasted pretty much no time at all.

American Jennifer Costa only needed nine seconds before she managed to make it 1-0.

But despite the lightning goal, the runner-up HV71 won.

With six minutes left in the first period, the visitors equalised.

Jenna Raunio scored her fourth goal of the season when she made it 1-1 on the power play.

In the second period, HV71 took over the lead, also after a powerplay goal.

The beginning of the third period was eventful – three goals in two and a half minutes.

First, HV71 extended their lead further, Gothenburg reduced - but HV pulled away again when Sanni Hakala made it 4-2 in box play.

After HV71 scored 5-2, Gothenburg took a timeout and picked out the goalkeeper in an attempt to catch up - but to no avail.

Thanks to the victory, which was HV71's first in regular time this season, they snapped a six-game losing streak and now leave the second jumbo spot.
