Barcelona narrowly managed to grab a point at home to Inter in a crazy 3-3 draw last time there was Champions League football.
However, that score did little to help in the end.
Ahead of tonight's game at home to Bayern Munich, they were dependent on Czech side Viktoria Plzen to rumble and take at least one point away to Inter to give them something to play for.
That hope stood for about 35 minutes, until Henrikh Mkhitaryan barged in 1-0.
The Milan side were then never threatened, eventually winning 4–0 and thereby securing their promotion from the group as they have better head-to-head statistics against Barcelona.
Barcelona, who for the second year in a row are already out of the group, must instead settle for the play-offs in the Europa League, which all teams that finish third in the Champions League group stage get a ticket to.
