Al-Ittihad of Alexandria shares Zamalek and Al-Ahly at the top of the Egyptian League

Al-Ittihad of Alexandria shared the top spot in the Egyptian Premier League table with Zamalek and Al-Ahly thanks to its 2-0 victory over its guest Al-Dakhiliya, while Ghazl El-Mahalla snatched a precious victory from its guest Ismaili 2-1 today, Monday, in the second stage of the competition.

At Alexandria Stadium, Ibrahim Hassan advanced with a goal for Al-Ittihad in the 36th minute, then Nigerian Austin Amoto added the second goal in the 70th minute, then Al-Ittihad played with ten players since the 84th minute after Mahmoud Alaa was sent off.

The victory raised Al-Ittihad’s balance to six points, evenly with Al-Ahly and Zamalek, after it achieved its second victory in a row, and Al-Dakhiliya’s balance stopped at one point in thirteenth place.

At Ghazl El-Mahalla Stadium, El-Mahalla achieved its first victory over Ismaily in 14 years, specifically since it won it 2-0 on May 15, 2008.

Ahmed Al-Sheikh advanced with a goal for Al-Mahalla in the 12th minute, then the young Nigerian Gabriel Orek added the second goal in the 75th minute, and Hazem Morsi secured the only goal for Ismaily three minutes before the end.

Ghazl El-Mahalla's balance rose to four points in fourth place, and Al-Ismaili remained without a score of points in the last place.
