Abdullah Al-Ajel told "Emirates Today": "There were no strong tests for the referee during the events of the match, and even the only goal of the match scored by Sharjah player Paco Alcacer was correct, and it resulted from a mistake."

"Despite the minor remarks, things in the match went well, as the referee wanted them to," he added.

The New Zealand referee used the yellow card five times, as there were four yellow cards for each of the Sharjah players, Mohammed Abdul Basit, Khaled Al Dhanhani, Khaled Bawazeer and Majid Rashid, and one yellow card for Al Wahda captain Ismail Matar.
