Three runners stood out.

Almgren's winning time was 11.10 and he was two seconds ahead of Emil Danielsson, who in turn was two seconds down on Samuel Russom.

A quad with the video crew was just ahead of the runners in the open field.

- Danielsson went strong at the end so I had to push quite hard but it felt controlled, says Almgren to the Swedish Athletics Federation.

Almgren, who broke the Swedish record of 13.01.70 in 5000 meters at the beginning of September, will run 10 km tomorrow.

World Cup orienteers good with

Orienteer Max Peter Bejmer, who was second in the long distance at the World Cup final in Switzerland three weeks ago, made an interesting start and was just 17 seconds behind Almgren in sixth.

Also in the women's class, Samrawit Mengsteab defended her title from last year.

She won in 13.25 and was ten seconds ahead of runner-up Sara Christiansson.

- The course was quite easy, the only difficulty was the hay bales you had to jump over, but otherwise it's a simple and good course, says Mengsteab, who will also run 10 km tomorrow.
