Sharjah snatches the "most expensive cups" from Al Wahda with a smart goal

Sharjah crowned the ninth title in its history in the President's Cup, after beating Al Wahda 1-0 in the match that brought them together on Friday evening, at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain, among 20,000 spectators.

Sharjah owes this victory to its Spanish striker, Paco Alexira, in the 53rd minute, after the first half ended in a goalless draw.

Romanian coach Olario Cosmin succeeded in breaking the knot in the final matches of that competition, after losing the title on two occasions, in 2014 and 2015, when he was coach of Al-Ahly youth.

Al-Wahda did not benefit from its advantage at the beginning thanks to the movements of Ahmed Refaat and Robin Filipi, amid a clear decline by the Sharjah team, and the first attempts came from the "Refaat" cross, and the goalkeeper, Darwish Muhammad, kept it away before Joao Pedro.

Sharjah appeared offensively after six minutes through a Pianic cross, which Lucas Pimenta removed to a corner kick before the ball reached Cayo Lucas.

Al-Wahda almost paid the price of Mohamed Barghash's mistake dearly, when he was slow to remove the ball and was snatched by the "active" Caio, but he shot into the net from outside the field "13".

Sharjah succeeded in absorbing the enthusiasm of the unit, after that game and began to simplify his control over the course of the game and get a fixed kick from a good place carried out by Pianc, to pass over everyone's heads to the outside of the field.

The unit continued to search for itself offensively, after Cosmin tightened his grip on the dangerous left side by joining Majid Rashid and Muhammad Abdul Basit to assist Khaled Al-Dhanhani, to find Hao Pedro alone without opportunities to obtain.

The Sharjah goalkeeper appeared in the picture after a long absence when he removed Lucas Pimenta's header, which he played from Ismail Matar's cross and turned into a corner kick "34".

After the break, Sharjah entered the match stadium, without its star Pjanic, who was replaced by Abu Bakr Kamara, so that the unitary attempts continued without threatening Darwish Muhammad's goal.

The king benefited from the experience of his Spanish player, Elixir, who took advantage of the lack of a human wall, and a wrong stance on the part of goalkeeper Mohammed Al Shamsi, and he shot a ball directly in the direction of his goal to settle in the upper left corners of Annabi's goal.

Al Wahda players became nervous after the goal, and Sharjah knew how to deal with the situation and absorbed the outburst of his opponent. He almost added the goal of reinforcement when Alexira passed a long ball to Caio, who was in a solitary position in the goal, but he threw the ball over the crossbar.

Both coaches intervened. The Spanish coach of Al-Wahda Jimenez threw Khalil Ibrahim at the expense of Ahmed Rafat, and Kuzmin threw his international player, Majid Hassan, at the expense of Alexira, who complained of some pain.

The confusion affected goalkeeper Mohammed Al Shamsi, who accidentally exited his line in a ball that Caio controlled, but Faris Jumaa intervened and took the risk away from his goal "65".

Ismail Matar missed the most dangerous chances of unity in this half, when he distributed Mohamed Barghash at the head of Ismail Matar, but he did not improve the handling of the ball and put it next to the right post, to be replaced after that game, with his colleague Tigali.

Al-Wahda's attempts were renewed against the Sharjah goal, and this time it was lost from defender Faris Jumaa, who received a pass while on the goal gate and placed his foot next to the post in a gag from the king's defense "76".

Joao Pedro failed to score from a ball passed to him by Alan Marcos, and the Sharjah goalkeeper accidentally got out of his net to put it over the "88" crossbar.
