Jim Gottfridsson expects to play in the WC

The Handball World Cup is approaching.

And earlier this week there was sad news that handball star and national team captain Jim Gottfridsson had to get off the field in the match between his club Flensburg and Füchse Berlin.

He has been x-rayed and now the 30-year-old confirms that it is a calf muscle injury.

But he keeps his courage up.

- Hard to say with a muscle injury, but the WC hopefully won't be a problem, he says to SVT Sport.

Gottfridsson was a key figure when Sweden went all the way and took home the gold in the EC at the beginning of the year.

And Skåne is positive despite the injury situation.

- Good luck in bad luck, I feel.

The Handball World Cup takes place between January 12-29.
