Increasing the number of fans in the stands in the Egyptian League

Ahmed Diab, president of the Egyptian Football Club Association, announced that the number of fans in the league matches will be increased to 6,000 fans per match in the 2022-2023 season.

On Sunday, Diab said during the draw ceremony for the league championship next season that increasing the number of fans in Egyptian stadiums is one of the most important goals of the association.

The Association of Clubs had decided at the beginning of last season that 2,000 fans attended the league matches, which was increased at the end of the season to 5,000 fans, after the fans were absent from stadiums in local tournaments since the events of Port Said Stadium on February 1, 2012, after the match between Al-Masry and Al-Ahly in the league championship, which took place 74 Al-Ahly fans were killed, followed by the events of the Air Defense Stadium on February 8, 2015 during the match between Zamalek and Enppi, which killed 22 Zamalek fans.
