The final loss against Solna in 2008, in a fifth and decisive match, is also a main reason for the decision to return home for a season when the Eldebrink sisters turn 35.

They are also joined by a year younger national team center Louice Halvarsson who, like the sisters, has had a long career in Europe, most recently in France.

- The goal of the return is that SM gold.

It's a long way to get there, but that's what we're aiming for, says Frida Eldebrink to SVT Sport.

Games in eight countries

The twin sisters have plenty of routine with them.

Both have played in eight different countries, Frida for 13 clubs and Elin eleven, most recently in Bourges, France, where she won both the French Cup and the Eurocup.

Now they will share their winning culture and convert it into victories on Swedish soil, in front of significantly smaller crowds, but with continued great desire.

- It's different, but at the same time everything has its charm.

We can try to create greater interest in Sweden so that we can get a little more audience at all matches, in all halls.

I think we can create a little hype, a boom, that Swedish women's basketball makes a bet, says Elin Eldebrink.

More vengeful

They are also joined by national team guard Klara Lundquist, who is also said to be driven by a real lust for gold after losing with Alvik the year before last spring 2-0 to 2-3 in the final series against Luleå.

Coach Jesper Sundberg has solid material to work with, a rewarding task but also with potentially pressing expectations.

He himself sees all possibilities.

- It sets a high standard for the training.

Just because they are used to playing a different physical basketball, a different tempo, means that all of us have to step up our efforts in everyday training, he says.

It won't be an easy journey.

Reigning champion Norrköping, title-laden and revenge-hungry Luleå, hard-charging upstart Östersund are just a few clubs that will pose difficult obstacles on the way to a desired SM gold.
