The Japan Rugby Union will build the first domestic facility in Fukuoka City, which will serve as a base for strengthening the Japanese national team, and will use it from May next year.

The facility will be located in the Sawayaka Sports Plaza in Higashi Ward, Fukuoka City, and a lease agreement has been reached between the city and the Japan Rugby Union.

On the 30th, Masato Tsuchida, chairman of the Japan Rugby Football Union, met with Mayor Takashima and said, "It has been a long-cherished wish to have a base for strengthening the national team, and I am very pleased. We will work with Fukuoka City to contribute to the revitalization of the region. I want to go," he said.

In response, Mayor Takashima responded, "Being able to see top players in action up close is a great source of strength for children who are working hard on rugby."

This time, it will be the first facility in Japan that will serve as a base for strengthening the Japanese national team, and the Japanese national team will use it from May next year.

With an area of approximately 54,000 square meters, there are two grounds, the main and sub grounds, as well as a training room and clubhouse.

The Japan Rugby Union wants to spread rugby by opening the sub-ground to students and adult teams, and by conducting exchange activities between local citizens and the Japanese national team.
