This spring, Tove Alexandersson opened to bet against the Olympics in Milan and Cortina in 2026. That would mean fewer orienteering competitions and more ski alpinism, which in 2026 is on the Olympic program for the first time.

-I think so.

In the last few years, that will be the main focus, she told TT at the time.

Now everything has been changed, and the investment may not come off at all.

- They have changed the program at the Olympics so it is not as attractive anymore.

They have removed the distance that I would have really invested in.

And that announcement came last summer, so we'll see how it turns out, says the 30-year-old.

Receives SOK support

Alexandersson is the best at most things she does.

So far, she has won WC gold in four different sports;

orienteering (17), ski orienteering (10), ski alpinism (1) and sky running (1) – and in November she will compete in the World Trail Running Championships in Thailand.

So it's no wonder that Sweden's Olympic Committee wants to help if she bets on the Olympics.

- If I decide to make an Olympic bet, I will get support from SOK, she says.

With one World Cup competition in orienteering left this autumn, she does not know when her next season (ski mountaineering) will start.

- Right now the focus is on running and orienteering, so I'll see when I stand on snow for the first time, she says.

"Good rep"

On Saturday, the World Cup final begins in Davos, Switzerland.

Alexandersson leads the overall World Cup with 90 points.

However, a victory gives 100 points, so the Swedish world star cannot relax.

- When I get there, the focus will be on the competitions and on doing as good a race as possible.

However, she is not sad that the competition season is over.

Then awaits what Alexandersson likes most: training.

- It will be fun to get a bit more of a training period now, she says and explains that the national team goes to a training camp immediately after the competitions in Davos.

- It will be a good rep for next year's WC, says Alexandersson.
