The Tampa Bay Lightning, with whom Swedish back star Victor Hedman won the Stanley Cup in 2020 and 2021, has been hit hard by Hurricane Ian.

The team, which canceled two pre-season games earlier this week, has now been forced to flee the whipping winds that can reach up to 230 kilometers per hour.

- The entire team with families and pets are in Nashville and everyone is safe.

I think of all those affected during this terrible hurricane, says Victor Hedman to Aftonbladet

Tampa Bay, which has yet to make a decision on when the team will return to Florida, will have moved their preseason camp to Nashville where they will also face the Nashville Predators in a preseason game on Friday.

The NHL season begins on October 12 when Tampa Bay travels to New York and Madison Square Garden where the New York Rangers are the opposition.
