Haruna Takada, who previously served as president of J2 and V-Varen Nagasaki, has been appointed as the second chairman of the women's professional soccer league, the WE League.

The WE League, a women's professional soccer league entering its second season this year, held a board meeting on the 29th and decided to appoint Mr. Takada as the second chairman.



At a press conference on the 29th, Takada said, "I want to work to create an environment where players can play in stadiums where many spectators gather, and raise the WE League to a higher level. Through women's soccer, we hope to bring dreams to many people. I would like to contribute to a society where women can play an active role.”



On top of that, she said, "The biggest issue is that information about the WE League is not well understood by the general public, so it is important to increase the number of topics in various situations." He also expressed his intention to work on strengthening information dissemination.



Mr. Takada is 45 years old from Nagasaki Prefecture.


After serving as president of soccer J2 and V-Varen Nagasaki for two years, she has been a director of the J League since March this year.


Mr. Takada's term as chair will be two years from the 29th.
