His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, issued Resolution No. 3 of 2022 restructuring the Board of Directors of the Hamdan Sports Complex, which falls under the umbrella of the Dubai Sports Council.

The first article of the decision stipulated that Ahmed Muhammad Al Shafar will chair the complex’s board of directors, Nasser Aman Al Rahma as vice president, and Maher Abdul Karim Julfar, Badr Ahmed Anwahi and Tariq Abdul Rahman Al Saleh are members of the board of directors.

A statement issued by the Dubai Sports Council said that the first article of the decision of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, set the term of office of the Board of Directors at four years, subject to renewal, and in the event that the term of membership of the members of the Board of Directors expires and the Board of Directors is not reconstituted, it continues. In this case, the members of the Board of Directors shall perform their duties until they are reappointed or new members are appointed in their place.

The decision was issued after reviewing Law No. (11) of 2009 regarding the Dubai Sports Council and its amendments, and Resolution No. (1) of 2018 regarding the restructuring of the Board of Directors of Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Sports Complex, the second article of which stipulated the application of the provisions of Resolution No. (1) for the year 2018 on the Board of Directors of the complex, formed pursuant to this resolution in all matters relating to the exercise of its powers, holding its meetings and other relevant provisions.

The third article of the decision stipulates that this decision shall be implemented from the date of its issuance, and shall be published in the Official Gazette.

Ahmed Al Shafar is the CEO of the Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), and he is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Wasl Sports Club, in addition to the Chairmanship of the Board of Directors of Hamdan Sports Complex since the previous session.

Nasser Al Rahma holds the position of Assistant Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council, as well as Director of the "Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Sports Creativity", and the position of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hamdan Sports Complex since the previous session, while Maher Julfar holds the position of First Vice President of the Exhibition and Conference Halls Department At the Dubai World Trade Center, he is also a member of the Board of Directors of Hamdan Sports Complex since the previous session, and he was a member of the Investment and Projects Committee in the Dubai Sports Council previously. Badr Anwahi is the Executive Director of the Public Utilities Corporation in Dubai Municipality, as well as the CEO of Global Village. Tariq Al Saleh, Director of Marketing at Belhasa Driving Group, previously served as a member of the Investment and Marketing Committee of the Dubai Sports Council.
