With six rounds left to play in the women's league, it was an important point to replay in front of the 1,264 spectators who made it to Kanalplan in Stockholm tonight.

For Linköping, the away match against Hammarby was about hooking Rosengård in the battle for gold.

For Hammarby, it was the pursuit of the top three, and thus a Champions League place, that was at stake.

And it was noticeable in the duels on the pitch – seven yellow cards were handed out.

The first half was goalless, but in the final minutes, Madelen Janogy had a great opportunity to give Hammarby the lead.

The striker met a cross from the right, but experienced Linköping defender Nilla Fischer interfered enough to prevent Janogy from getting a clean hit on the ball.

Instead, it was Linköping who scored the match's first – and only – goal.

Team captain Olga Adela Ahtinen had a real dream hit a couple of meters outside the penalty area - unattainable for Anna Tamminen in the Hammarby goal.

The victory means that Linköping is now second in the table, just two points behind Rosengård.

Hammarby, on the other hand, remains on 37 points.

With five games and 15 points left to play for, it will be tough for the Stockholm team to reach a Champions League spot.
