The new rules, in addition to the fact that the riders are no longer allowed to cross out their worst results, are that the WC races are no longer included in the World Cup, and the points system is also slightly changed.

Elvira Öberg believes that not being allowed to write off her worst results can affect those who want to fight for the overall World Cup.

- It gives zero room to cancel competitions and then you can feel forced to compete everything, says Elvira Öberg.

The risk with that, she says, is that if someone feels a bit cold, they might choose to compete anyway in order not to lose too much in the overall World Cup, whereas in previous years they would probably have given up a competition.

Majority against

Last winter, a survey was conducted among the active.

The survey showed that 65 percent of the riders wanted to keep the old system.

- I was one of those who was against it in advance, then we'll see how it plays out, but I don't see any positive aspects that outweigh the negatives, says Elvira Överg.

Betting on the overall World Cup

Before the season, Elvira has planned to go to all competitions to give herself the chance to take home the total.

Last season she was second in the overall World Cup.

- What must I develop to become the best in the world?

It's quite simple, I have the skiing, it's the shooting that needs to be developed, says Elvira Öberg.
