The “Gulf 25” draw will be held in Basra, October 25

The Iraqi Football Association announced yesterday that the ceremony of holding the draw for the Gulf 25, scheduled for the city of Basra in the south of the country from January 6 to 19, 2023, will be held on October 25.

And the Iraqi Federation stated in a brief media statement that “the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation decided to hold a draw for the 25th Gulf Cup in the city of Basra on the twenty-fifth of October 2022.”

The Gulf Cup is held every two years, and the first edition was held in Bahrain in 1970, when Qatar hosted the last edition in 2019, in which Bahrain won the first title in its history.

Kuwait holds the record number of times to win the title (10), compared to 3 titles for each of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Iraq, and two titles for each of the Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman.
