Classic 4-4-2 became 4-3-3 for the Swedish national team in connection with this summer's Nations League gathering.

But after double losses against Norway and a precarious position before the end, national team captain Janne Andersson has decided to go back to 4-4-2 for upcoming matches.

- It didn't work and it's a pretty sharp situation, so it's smart to go back to basics, says midfielder Mattias Svanberg to Aftonbladet.

"A little more balance"

For Fotbollskanalen, Svanberg analyzes and assesses the advantages of 4-4-2 as follows:

- There will probably be a bit more balance in the inner midfield, to steer up and tie the whole team together.

A lot of players here are used to playing this way from before, and maybe it's not the time to develop anything in this particular collection because there are such important matches.
