Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan joked with FIFA President Gianni Infantino during a meeting at the Turkish House in New York, by asking him about playing football in the same team with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

During Infantino's gift to the Turkish president, the official ball for the 2022 World Cup, on which he wrote "Recep Tayyip Erdogan", the latter directed his speech to Infantino by saying, "I am coming to Qatar, who will I play with? Will you play with me?"

Infantino replied, "Of course, we will play together in the same team."

Erdogan then asked, "Will he join the team, Sheikh Tamim?" He replied, "Yes, he will join us."

Infantino described the gift ball as "a unique, unparalleled ball in the world. Wherever you look, you will not find a ball like it." Then Erdogan surprised him with an elegant header.

The meeting between them came on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
