With only five minutes left to play, Häcken was headed for a cross away to the big club PSG.
The score was 1–1 after Marika Bergman Lundin struck with an equalizer in the first half.
But in the final minutes came the blow.
French star Kadidiatou Diani shook off his mark and was able to score 2–1 in Paris.
That was also the end result.
- Really sad.
So boring.
We were on our way to a cross and then it comes so late, says 19-year-old left back Anna Sandberg.
"Really proud"
But she is not broken after the loss.
The optimism is palpable.
- We should be damn proud of how we stand up.
We defend well and get an okay result.
Now the chance is alive for the return, says Sandberg.
Next week the teams meet in Gothenburg.
The fence needs to win to advance to the group stage.
