Although she has been team captain for the past three years, including during the Olympics and WC, Carin Strömberg has not been selected for the last team before the EC in November.

Strömberg herself has said to SVT Sport that it is very sad not to be selected, but that she intends to turn the poke into motivation to work harder for a place in the squad in the future.

SVT's guest expert on handball, Mikaela Mässing, has somewhat the same mindset, who at the same time thinks it might be a good idea to give other players a chance.

- Tomas Axnér did the same for Nathalie Hagman a while ago, she was poked and took it to heart with a really good club season, was selected again and has played like a god after that.

So I don't think it's that stupid really, says Mässing.

"Hope she takes it as lighter fluid"

You mean the poke doesn't have to mean that much?

- I hope that she takes it as lighter fluid and does even better in her club team and then eventually makes a comeback in the national team, says Mässing and continues:

- I don't think you should make such big changes from it, but it seems that Axnér is testing a little differently and poking a little to the right and left where many are making a comeback, but we'll see.

Sweden meets Brazil on both September 29 and October 1, the international matches are broadcast on SVT.

In November, the EC will be decided, where the blue-and-yellow ladies face Slovenia, Serbia and Denmark in the group.
