Tufte won Olympic gold in single sculls in Athens 2004 and in Beijing 2008. He also has an Olympic silver in double sculls from the Sydney Games, an Olympic bronze from Rio and two World Cup golds in single sculls from 2001 and 2003.

After the Olympics in Tokyo last summer, however, he announced that his rowing career was over.

But now he continues – in a completely new sport.

The Norwegian will compete in the Ski Classics long-distance cup, which starts on December 10.

However, Tufte is not completely new to skiing, he has competed in the Vasaloppet and was, among other things, 43rd in 2007.
