Elfsborg played match after match this summer - without winning.

In total, there were nine Allsvenskan matches in a row without a win.

But when summer turned to autumn, the wind has turned.

After defeating Malmö and Sundsvall, Elfsborg's third straight victory came when Sirius was defeated 3–0.

Admittedly, they got a little help from their opponents Sirius on the first two goals, but three points are three points.

Deadly own goal

In the 25th minute, Jakob Voelkerling Persson was responsible for an own goal when he failed to clear a cross and instead sent the ball straight into the goal.

Just before the break, it was time again when Alexander Bernhardsson hit the ball a few meters outside the penalty area, whereupon the ball found its way into the roof of the net after being directed at an opposing defender.

- It feels like a lot is going against us right now, says Marcus Mathisen to Discovery+ after the match.

Elsfborg expanded

With a quarter of an hour left to play, Sveinn Gudjohnsen made it 3–0 with a hard shot next to the far post.

- We have continued to keep the faith and run on the system that has been successful for the last two years, we have not wavered on it even though it has been a little more difficult and now we have fought our way back, says Johan Larsson.
