J1 soccer team FC Tokyo played against Kyoto Sanga at the National Stadium, and referee Yoshimi Yamashita served as the first female referee for a J1 match.

Ms. Yamashita was the first female candidate to be the referee at the soccer World Cup Qatar tournament, which will start in November, and served as the referee at J1's FC Tokyo vs. Kyoto Sanga held at the National Stadium on the 18th.



It is the first time for a female referee to be the referee in a J1 match.



The match began with Mr. Yamashita blowing his whistle shortly after 7:00 pm, and more than 50,000 spectators visited the venue.



And FC Tokyo won 2-0 with goals from Leandro and Adaiuton.



During the match, Mr. Yamashita made judgments with a firm attitude from beginning to end, and when the match was over, he exchanged fist touches with the players of both teams and showed a smile.
