On Wednesday, the police arrested Mathias Pogba and four other people.
Yesterday, a judge decided to indict Paul Pogba's brother, and remand him.
The charge concerns participation in a criminal organization, and gang-related extortion.
Allegedly kidnapped
According to several foreign media, the blackmail was aimed at Mathias Pogba's younger brother: Football star Paul Pogba.
Paul Pogba claims, according to various sources, that he was allegedly kidnapped one evening in March.
The persons now indicted are said to have then demanded the star of 13 million euros, which corresponds to over 140 million kroner.
Denies crime
According to information, Pogba must have paid 100,000 euros (just under SEK 1.1 million).
The defendants, according to their lawyers, deny any wrongdoing.
