The Korean modern pentathlon won the medal in the women's individual event at the 2022 Asian Championships.



Minah Jung (BNK Savings Bank) took first place with a total of 1,388 points in fencing, horseback riding, swimming, and laser run (track and shooting) in the final of the women's individual event held in Almaty, Kazakhstan.



Next, Kim Eun-ju (Gangwon-do Athletic Association) came in second place with 1,382 points, and Seong-min (Daegu Metropolitan City Hall) came in third with 1,376 points, and all Korean players filled the podium.



With the total score of the three players (4,146 points), Korea also beat China (3,973 points) in the women's team event and won the championship for the second time in a row following 2019.



According to the Korea Modern Pentathlon Federation, this is the first time that Korea has won gold, silver and bronze medals in the women's individual event at the Asian Championships.



In the men's division, Jin-Hwa Jeong (LH), Dong-Hoon Nam, and Chun-Heon Lee placed 1st to 3rd in the 2009 tournament.



Even though major players such as Jeon Woong-tae (Gwangju City Hall), Jin-hwa Jeong, Seon-woo Kim (Gyeonggi-do Office), and Se-hee Kim (BNK Savings Bank) did not participate in this tournament, the Korean modern pentathlon, the first event, showed a good start from the women's individual event.
