Real Madrid did not long leave the place of leader of the Spanish championship to its Barcelona rival.

Opposed this September 18 to Atlético, its Madrid neighbor, the players of Carlo Ancelotti won despite the absence of their captain Karim Benzema, injured in the right thigh.

The speed of Vinicius and Rodrygo, the two Madrid wingers, allowed Real Madrid to quickly take the advantage on the lawn of the Metropolitano.

From the 18th minute, the French international Aurélien Tchouaméni combined perfectly with Rodrygo, who opened the scoring with a nice volley.

The Brazilian celebrated his goal by going dancing at the corner post with Vinicius, his club and country teammate, in response to recent criticism in Spain over his way of dancing after his goals.

Real Madrid still as intractable this season

The other Brazilian is also behind the second goal of the Merengues, after a solo ride on the left side.

His shot at the end of the race was deflected by Jan Oblak on the post, before Federico Valverde came to conclude the action (36th) to double the score.

Despite the first tenure of Antoine Griezmann, until then confined to a substitute role since the start of the season due to a disagreement between Atlético Madrid and FC Barcelona around his loan, the Colchoneros have not found the solution before the last minutes of the meeting.

On a corner from the French diverted by Thibaut Courtois, Mario Hermoso came to reduce the score in the 82nd minute before being excluded a few minutes later.

This success confirms the great form of Real Madrid, undefeated since the start of the season with nine successes in all competitions.

The Spanish and European champions also signed their best start to the league since the 1987-1988 season.
