In connection with allegations of extortion against football star Paul Pogba, the judiciary has initiated investigations against his brother and four other people.

This was announced by the public prosecutor's office on Sunday night.

Paul Pogba accuses his brother and childhood friends of trying to extort millions from him.

According to the public prosecutor, Mathias Pogba is now accused of extortion in an organized gang and participation in a criminal organization to prepare a crime.

The others were charged with, among other things, extortion with weapons in an organized gang and false imprisonment.

Compromising Videos

Mathias Pogba and three of his alleged accomplices are currently in custody.

The proceedings that have now been initiated could lead to criminal proceedings if the investigating judges finally see sufficient evidence.

Otherwise they could stop the procedure.

Pogba returned to his former club Juventus in the summer after six years at Manchester United.

Legal authorities in Italy and France are dealing with the allegations of extortion.

Pogba should pay a large sum of money if he wants to prevent the publication of allegedly compromising videos, media reports said.
