Barcelona rose to the top of the Spanish Football League temporarily, after its victory over Elche today, Saturday, by 3-0 in the sixth stage of the competition.

Barcelona raised its score to 16 points in first place, and temporarily topped the standings of the competition, one point ahead of Real Madrid, who faces its arch-rivals Atletico Madrid on Sunday.

On the other hand, Elche's balance froze at one point in the 20 (last) place.

Barcelona advanced through Robert Lewandowski (34), before Memphis Depay added the second goal (41).

In the 48th minute, Lewandowski scored his second and third goal for Barcelona.

Elche completed the match with 10 men after Gonzalo Verdo was sent off in the 14th minute.
