In the tributes to the Swiss Federer, 41, she says in a post on Instagram something that can still be interpreted as her own career being over:

"Welcome to the pensioners' club".

Williams said before the recently concluded US Open that she would retire.

But after the losing match at Flushing Meadows that she probably won't continue.

- I don't think so, but you never know.
