Henrik Stenson is one of several golf stars who switched from the American PGA tour to the Saudi-funded LIV tour.

Peter Reinebo, director of operations at SOK, did not think that Stenson would take that step.

- I was surprised by his choice, I didn't think he would do it, says Reinebo to Radiosporten.

"Such a commitment is questionable"

- I think that such a commitment is questionable.

There are probably things I don't know.

But a commitment there doesn't match my own values and it doesn't match SOK's values either,

The new tour has divided the golf world.

The critics believe that the LIV players contribute to "sportswashing", and Stenson's decision led, among other things, to him losing the role of Ryder Cup captain.

The now 46-year-old Stenson won Olympic silver in Rio 2016, but the change of tour may already have jeopardized his chances of participating in the summer games in Paris in 2024. The current Olympic qualification is based on the official world ranking and currently gives LIV -tour's competitions no ranking points.
