'Volleyball Empress' Heungkuk Life Insurance Kim Yeon-kyung will play a V-League comeback against Pepper Savings Bank on the 25th of next month.

The Korean Volleyball Federation (KOVO) announced today (15th) the V-League schedule for the 2022-2023 season, which will start on the 22nd of October and will go on a six-month long journey.

The opening match of the women's division will be held on October 22 at 4 pm in Suwon between Hyundai E&C, who placed first place in the regular league last season, and Korea Expressway Corporation, who placed second in the regular league.

The two teams met in the group stage of the cup competition on the 16th of last month, and Korea Expressway Corporation defeated Hyundai E&C 3-1 with a set score.

The first match of Kim Yeon-kyung's team Heungkuk Life Insurance, who returned to the V-League court after a year, will be held on October 25 at Samsan Gymnasium in Incheon.

Kim Yeon-kyung's comeback opponent was Pepper Savings Bank, the lowest team in the regular league last season.

The men's opening match will be held on October 22 at 2 pm at the Incheon Gyeyang Gymnasium with a match between Korean Air and KB Insurance.

Korean Air, the 'defending champion' who won the combined championship last year, and the runner-up team, KB Insurance, will face off on April 9 for the first time in six months after the third round of the men's championship in the 2021-2022 season.

The two teams did not play in the 2022 Suncheon-Dodram Cup professional volleyball tournament held last month as they were placed in different groups.

The men's and women's regular leagues are played in the traditional way, with 7 teams each playing 6 rounds in full league.

After the fourth round, the All-Star Game is scheduled for January 29, 2023.

The location has not been decided yet.

The postseason will be held from March 21, 2023, and the winning team will be determined through a best-of-three play-off and a best-of-seven championship match.

However, if the difference in points between 3rd and 4th place is 3 points or less, a single playoff will be held.
