Mayu Shichichi won the gold medal in the women's 55kg class at the World Wrestling Championships in Serbia on the 13th.

Shitochi, who won the gold medal in the 53-kg class at the Tokyo Olympics, moved up the weight class to compete in the 55-kg class, and won the gold medal by beating a Ukrainian athlete in the final.



This is the first time for a Japanese team to win a gold medal at this tournament, and Shitochi's third gold medal at the World Championships after winning in 2016 and 2018.
