With just over two months left until the World Cup in Qatar, the championship has now encountered further problems.

Last Friday, a match was played at the World Cup arena, Lusail Iconic Stadium, but for the almost 78,000 spectators there, it turned out to be a rather unpleasant evening.

At half time the water in the arena ran out and there was no water available outside either.

Which created major problems in the 34-degree heat and high humidity, the Reuters news agency reports.

The cooling systems also failed to keep the temperature down in the arena.

2.5 km long queue

Big problems also arose when the audience was leaving the arena.

According to Reuters, there was a 2.5 km long queue for the subway, which is 400 meters from the arena.

- It's such a mess.

I no longer want to go to the WC.

Not if it has to be like this, says a supporter from Egypt who lived in Doha for many years.

In the chaos after the match, a supporter allegedly elbowed a security guard in the neck to get to the subway.

The organizer says the match was a good lesson for the organization which gained invaluable experience.

The World Cup final on December 18 will be played at the Lusail Iconic Stadium.
