Sirius needs to pay back the government support of just over four million kroner that the Allsvenskan football club was awarded during the corona pandemic.

The authority Tillväxtverket is the one demanding Sirius for the million amount.

- We think it is very sad to receive this message.

We believe that we have given adequate information and arguments that justify our layoff support, and contrary to the decision, we believe that we were in great need of support when it happened, says Sirius club director Christer Abrahamsson to the club's website.

The club will not lie flat.

- Therefore, it is obvious for us to appeal the decision and then let the process take its course, as many other associations in elite sports have done, he says.
