A Daily Mail

investigation

published on Monday relaunched the Byron Castillo case, the subject of a complaint from Chile which accuses him of being Colombian and not Ecuadorian.

The complaint had been rejected by Fifa at the beginning of the summer, but the case could well be revived by audios broadcast by the tabloid, audios in which Castillo betrays himself by confirming that he used false papers to obtain a false identity.

Moreover and according to the survey, the player was born in 1995 and not in 1998.

Fifa must decide this Thursday on the file and the follow-up which will (or not) be given to it.

Chile is in pole to replace Ecuador in case of exclusion.
