• Group A: Liverpool are better

Successful takeover operation for Liverpool: after their heavy inaugural defeat in Naples (4-1), the Reds reacted against Ajax Amsterdam (2-1), relaunching themselves in Group A. At Anfield, Jürgen Klopp's team found the fault by Mohamed Salah (17th), but Ajax immediately equalized thanks to an overpowered shot in the top corner of Mohammed Kudus (27th).

It was not until a providential goal from Joel Matip (89th) to free the Reds.

While waiting for the other group match, Glasgow Rangers-Naples, postponed to Wednesday due to logistical constraints linked to the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Liverpool, Ajax and Napoli are tied in the lead (3 pts).

Pure passion.

  • Group B: a slap for Atlético

Evening of surprises in group B: FC Porto and Atlético Madrid, favorites of the group, ended up on the mat.

Club Brugge managed the feat of winning well at the Dragon stadium in Portugal (4-0) to take control of the pool with two wins in two matches (6 pts).

Behind, Atlético ended up giving way (2-0) to Leverkusen, on goals from Robert Andrich (84th) and Frenchman Moussa Diaby (87th), and the two opponents find themselves neck and neck in the standings ( 3 points each).

  • Group C: Bayern win the clash

In the poster for the evening, the Bavarian club overcame Barça (2-0) thanks to Frenchman Lucas Hernandez (50th) and Leroy Sané (54th), knocking out his Catalan rival who had not yet been undeserved.

The reunion between Bayern and their former serial scorer Robert Lewandowski was eagerly awaited: the Polish centre-forward, transferred to Barcelona for 45 million euros in the offseason, was more applauded than whistled and he missed the most great opportunity from Barça, sending the ball just above when he was alone at the penalty spot (18th).

But it was Bayern who struck, first by Hernandez with a header (50th), then by Sané (54th), while Munich rookie Sadio Mané was rather discreet.

Enough to bend Barcelona and place Bayern at the top of the group (6 pts), three lengths ahead of the Catalan club and Inter Milan, who rebounded at the expense of Viktoria Plzen thanks to Edin Dzeko (20th) and Denzel Dumfries ( 70th).

This team.

  • Group D: Sporting continue to dominate

Tottenham lost in the final minutes against Sporting Portugal (2-0), conceding two goals in quick succession on Tuesday at the José Alvalade stadium.

Striker Paulinho first opened the scoring with an angry header from a corner (90th, 1-0) before Arthur Gomes gave Sporting definitive success with a clear shot after the last action of the match. (90th + 3, 2-0).

After two days, Sporting has two wins in two matches.

Committed for the second day of the Champions League on Tuesday, Olympique de Marseille once again lost at home against Frankfurt (1-0) after their inaugural defeat a week ago at Tottenham.

Unrecognizable for an hour, the Marseillais conceded the opener just before the break by Jesper Lindstrom on a defensive error.

The OM coach did try to find the solution by changing all his attacking animation but without ever finding the fault against a very solid German formation.

After two days, Marseille are last in their group with 0 points behind Tottenham and Frankfurt, 3 points, and Sporting, leader with 6 points, OM's next opponent.
