Too often unlucky in 2022, as evidenced by his retirement from the Vuelta at the end of August, Julian Alaphilippe was still selected by Thomas Voeckler for the road cycling world championships in Australia.

The French will therefore have the right to defend the rainbow jersey that he has painfully worn on his shoulders for two years already.



Alaphilippe is accompanied in the selection for the road race, on September 25 in Wollongong, by Romain Bardet, Christophe Laporte, Valentin Madouas, Quentin Pacher, Florian Sénéchal, Pavel Sivakov, Rémi Cavagna and Bruno Armirail.

The latter two will also compete in the time trial which will take place next Sunday.
