Shin Ji-ah, the top female singles prospect in figure skating in Korea, won the first major tournament she participated in this season by making up for a mistake with her extraordinary skill.

In the women's single free skating in the third round of the ISU Figure Skating Junior Grand Prix for the 2022-2023 season held at the Volvo Sports Center in Liga, Latvia today, Jia Shin has a technical score of 64.61, an artistic score of 60.66, and a deduction of 1 I got a total score of 124.27 points.

He finished with a final total of 194.68 points, including her short program score of 70.41 points, beating Korean-American Soho Lee (185.92 points) to win the gold medal.

This is the first time Shin Ji-ah has won her Junior Grand Prix.

He was highly anticipated by winning a bronze medal at the 6th Junior Grand Prix of the 2021-2022 season, her international debut season, and a silver medal at the World Junior Championships.

She revealed her prospects for her first ever Junior Grand Prix stage in the new season as she played a more mature role.

She was the youngest of 34 players to start her acting career, and she cleaned double axel, triple loop and triple salcho in succession.

She and she also performed flawlessly clean triple flip-double toe loop-double loop combination jumps.

The final task of the first half, the flying camel spin, was also handled at the highest level 4, and she continued her performance smoothly.

However, Shin Jia made a big mistake while performing her first assignment in the second half, which added 10% points.

I fell while trying to perform a triple lutz-triple toe loop combination jump and couldn't handle the triple toe loop running behind me.

The combination jump of 11.11 points was changed to a single jump of 6.49 points, and the performance point (GOE) was also reduced by 2.95 points.

It was a situation where a single mistake could deduct more than 10 points.

Shin Jia did not panic, and calmly showed her wits and switched programs and continued acting.

Instead of his planned triple flip-double axel sequence jump, he did a combination jump with a triple flip plus a double toe loop.

He then went on to do triple lutz-double axel sequence jumps instead of triple lutz solo jumps, taking care of every jump element.

He suffered some losses, but he made it through the worst.

After completing all of the jumping tasks, Jia Shin did perfect non-jumping tasks as well.

He completed his performance by performing a change foot combination spin (level 4) followed by a choreo sequence (level 1) followed by a flying change foot combination spin (level 4).

Jia Shin, who overcame the crisis and achieved the best performance, will compete in the 6th Junior Grand Prix to be held in Gdansk, Poland next month, once again aiming for a medal.

If he wins that competition, he has a very good chance of earning a ticket to the Junior Grand Prix Final, the king of kings.

Shin Ji-ah, who won the gold medal around her neck, said through her agency, "I'm in good shape, but I'm not 100% satisfied with my mistakes."

Meanwhile, Hwang Ji-hyeon (dojo), who participated with him, finished 7th with 166.61 points.
