Jabeur dominated the match from first ball to last, winning over Garcia in straight sets, 6–1, 6–3.

The match only lasted a little over an hour.

Already last summer, Jabeur made tennis history when she became the first woman from Africa to reach a grand slam final at Wimbledon.

She then lost the final to Jelena Rybakina, Kazakhstan.

- It feels fantastic.

After Wimbledon I had a lot of pressure on me and I'm really relieved that I can back up my results, says Jabeur now.

- The hard court season started a bit poorly, but I am very happy to have reached the final here.

In the final, Jableur faces the two-time champion from the French Championships, Iga Swiatek, from Poland.

She defeated Aryna Sabalenka in three sets, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.

It will also be Swiatek's first US Open final.
