The match was postponed an hour after fans fought with each other inside the Allianz Riviera stadium.

The German fans were reinforced with the Paris SG hooligans.

Three investigations have been launched into the unrest, which also took place in the city centre.

Uefa has also launched an investigation into eight cases in Nice and three in Cologne.

It was a high-risk match that had been preceded by a lot of planning with various authorities and organizations involved, among them the two clubs.

Among other things, there were 650 police officers on site and 600 security guards at the arena.

"Unacceptable behavior"

The responsible politician in the Alpes Maritimes region, Bernard Gonzalez, singles out the German fans as most responsible.

According to him, many of the traveling fans had started drinking at the bars early on.

They had a security section of the arena but got out of there together with connecting hooligans from Paris SG who were there and then the giant brawl was on.

- They had unacceptable behavior, Gonzalez says of the Germans and the PSG fans who made common cause.

Paris SG have also condemned the incident and distanced themselves from their own fans who were present.

A supporter from Paris suffered the worst.

He fell on the stand and suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries, AP writes.

"The club must consider what measures to take for the damage caused by the actions of such individuals," PSG wrote in a statement.

The match could be played completely and ended 1-1.
