Strong start and tense end.

If PSG emerged victorious from their meeting with Juventus (2-1) on the occasion of the opening of the group stage of the Champions League, the Parisian club showed some difficulty in winning this Tuesday evening.

"Winning in difficulty also allows a group to grow", underlines Christophe Galtier.

Everything had started well for Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.

Shortly after the start of the match, Kylian Mbappé quickly opened the scoring, on a delicious ladle from partner Neymar.

Then the double, a quarter of an hour later.

With a score of 2-0 at the break, the club was already dreaming of a victory.

But Juventus reacted, well helped by the defensive mistakes of a PSG unable to take shelter definitively.

The goal after McKennie returned from the locker room will fortunately only remain a warning for the Parisians.

"There was this first period which in my eyes was very good and then, the second period where we let ourselves be trapped on a set piece", analyzes PSG coach Christophe Galtier.

"We had to whip, work hard not to concede this second goal. But winning in difficulty also allows a group and a team to grow", recognizes however the coach.

Already three points

If it is difficult to see more clearly the day after the match, on the level of Paris Saint-Germain against the rest of the European scene, the importance is elsewhere.

After this victory, Paris gains three points in the standings.

Excellent news that allows Christophe Galtier to forget – a little – his controversial remarks on the movements of his club.
