Pitcher Junichi Tazawa, who played an active role as a middleman in the Major League Red Sox, has decided to join ENEOS, his former home baseball team.

This was announced by ENEOS on the 7th.

After graduating from high school, pitcher Tazawa joined ENEOS as a member of society, led the team to victory in the 2008 Intercity Baseball Championship, and won the MVP Hashido Award.

After that, he challenged the major leagues directly without going through Japanese professional baseball, and helped the Red Sox win the World Series in 2013 as a middleman.

His career record in the major leagues is 21-26-4 with 4.12 ERA in 388 games.

In 2020 he joined the Japanese independent league and has since continued to play in Taiwan and Mexico.

When Tazawa joined the team, he made a comment through the team, stating, "During my four-year tenure, I learned not only baseball skills but also many things such as how to behave as a member of society. I would like to thank you for sending me off warmly. Now that I have returned to ENEOS, I would like to contribute to the team with all my might."
